This is really a test of the list, but I thought I would say something useful instead of "just a test." The book, "Touched By An Angel," by Martha Williamson is out in bookstores now. It will probably be in the new releases, religion, or angel section of your local store. It tells a little about TBAA's history from Martha's viewpoint and includes a little from Roma, Della, and John. It also has four episodes from TBAA made into short-stories. The episodes are: #107 Unexpected Snow, #111 There But for the Grace of God, #202 Interview With an Angel, and #214 Jacob's Ladder. This book is a must have for the serious TBAA fan. talk to y'all later, April ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ April J. I've not been very good about cataloging my tapes lately, and my TBAA episode guide is out of date as well. Can anyone help me fill in the blanks? I checked the TBAA site, but still have some confusion. Thanks! 310 The Homecoming Part 1 PL The Homecoming Part 2 (what PL episode number is this? and is the title correct?) 311 The Journalist 312 The Violin Lesson 313 Forget-Me-Not (is this the photographer daughter one?) 314 Smokescreen Is there anything between the above list and the below list, and does anyone have episode numbers for the ones below? And is there anything else since The Homecoming that I've missed? Angel of Death Clipped Wings (Monica's Evaluation?) South Central Mall (Part one of PL Crossover) Amazing Grace (is this part 2 of South Central Mall) Many thanks for everyone's help! Just to get things going, I'm going to throw out the first ball, conversationally speaking..... "Groundrush" is the second TBAA episode I ever saw ("Interview with an Angel" was first, I think-- that was the one with Gerald McRaney playing a surgeon, right?) and while a few things about it still bug me (like how a tiny airstrip could afford to hire two extra people) one of the things I really liked about it is that it showed that even the *angels* have flaws. They aren't perfect; they can mess up, as Monica most undoubtably did in this episode. It would have been *so* easy, with a show like this, to make the angels perfect-- always making the right decisions, saying the right things-- and it would have made the show *so* much less interesting. I'm glad Monica can be taken in by appearances, and Tess can be overly possessive about that car of hers (Did anybody else wonder if God had Andrew use her car in his chop-shop in "Sins of the Fathers" because He thought she was getting *too* attached to it? ), and Andrew can be shocked when somebody uses him to hurt someone. (The eclipse episode, with the overzealous reporter and the foster family-- I'm blanking on the name right now.) Having the angels have *human* flaws-- because, after all, they are in human shape, and even if you think angels are perfect beings, it could be argued the weaknesses come with the bodies-- makes it so much easier to relate to them as *people*. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't have a lot in common with people who don't (or don't admit they) make mistakes. Having "our" angels be fallible makes them a lot more accessible to us "mere mortals." Comments? Diane E # "Nothing that is made by God is queer." Yes, this is the one with the librarian mother and photographer daughter. > 314 Smokescreen > > Angel of Death > Clipped Wings (Monica's Evaluation?) > South Central Mall (Part one of PL Crossover) > Amazing Grace (is this part 2 of South Central Mall) I'd assume that the episode numbers would be chronological, but that's not always the case. You forgot about the episode with the pastor grieving over losing his son which came after the Angel of Death. I think Amazing Grace is the title of the whole two part series. It was a special two hour episode of Touched By An Angel. > Sorry I couldn't help much, April ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Mar 1997 11:56:04 -0500 From: "Eric Isenbarger" To: "April J. Concerning the fallibility of angels, wonder if that is true? Everytime I watch just the ending, not the main story of how Monica got taken in by hero-worshipping a mortal with a past, but the point of reconcilliation. (Sigh) It really makes me come to terms with the truth, and how any lies we say, actions that are taken, even the very thoughts, can make us turn our backs to God. I say this because I have done so time and time again. When I am reminded of how much God wants me back by humiliating and humbling me, I am forced to face the truth. It will not be hidden or avoided. I keep running into this time and time again, in my daily life, in my interactions with those around me, and even in my thoughts. Have I not gotten the picture yet? Has anyone of us? God did not make us to lie. He is hurt by that since that is not God. To thine own self be true. Is that not the message in the recent episode of TBAA, "Groundrush"? If they self is not true, then what is the truth? You know, I hurt over this, since I have lied to others about me. Lied about my relationship with God, with my past, and I am ashamed. Even now I am ashamed of my past, my present. That is what the show means to me. It is a crucible, burning its way to the truth. So, folks, answer me this: what is the truth, in three letters and one syllable? I'll give you a hint. It starts with G, the middle is O, and it ends with D. That is the truth. If not, what is? God I am sorry for what I have done. Please forgive me. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Mar 1997 17:55:07 -0600 (CST) From: gryphon @ .com To: tbaangel @ execpc.com Subject: LISTNANNY: Testing, 1, 2, 3....
