It could be my imagination, but I'm almost sure I heard the name Jesus mentioned in an episode from second season (or repeats of the first). I vaguely remember the second coming comment by Tess, but I don't think that is what I'm thinking of. Been lurking since a bit before the list went down for a while. I really enjoy all your comments and I'm a big fan of TBAA. I love TBAA, been known to schedule around it in order not to miss an episode. So far, I've only missed the premiere. Obligatory intro... My name is Kay, and I'm a 39 yr. old college student, who will graduate spring 1998 with an assoc. degree in Computer Information Systems (provided I survive ;) I am owned by a pair of Siamese cats who are kind enough to allow my husband and I space on their bed! Now for the important question, the one that drove me to "de-lurk": Arrrgggghhhh! What book? Someone PLEASE give me details. My name is Will Wiehe. I pronounce my last name as WEE-HEE. My given first name is Willard & NOT! William like some may think. I'll be 50 on May 25th which may be the date of the last episode for the 3rd season of TBAA. Also in turning 50 in a couple of months I am still single gals & never married! Anyway I love TBAA & loved the 2 parter. It seems to show just how blind we really are. Even if it's not intentional. As for the episode title AMAZING GRACE the song written by a captain of a slave ship does have special meaning to me. Lost but now I'm found does remind me of my disillusion I had in the mid 60's-late 70's period & hearing a certain message on the radio made me feel reborn. I WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE also can refer to this part in my life. However from 4/64-5/66 I underwent 4 operations which included 3 cataract operations on my eyes (before implants folks) & an ear operation. I am looking forward to Sunday's episode with Priscilla Presley. It should be interesting. I'm very glad this group is back up again. Thanks! One is in JET with Della & Roma on the cover. The other was in GOOD HOUSEKEEPING. Also Martha's book is out featuring scripts of 4 episodes & info. about the show. After just a couple of pages my eyes were quite wet to say the least. Definately worth reading. Thanks! & may God richly bless all of you & yours always & in ALL WAYS! HUGG$! Best always! I think there are two problems at work here, that are keeping posts from the list. One, make sure when you hit 'reply', that the address you're replying to is: TBAAngel @ execpc.com Any other address won't likely go through. Two, you can only post from the address that is actually subscribed to the list. Anything else will bounce to me. Please don't subscribe from multiple addresses to overcome this, though, just forward posts through the one address you're subscribed from if you can. :-) Take care, Jennie ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Mar 1997 21:32:08 -0600 (CST) From: gryphon @ .com To: TBAAngel @ execpc.com Subject: Re: Replies going to list? If you just hit "reply", your reply will go to the poster. If you tell your mailer to send to "reply-all", it will go to the sender *and* the list. This is a pre-set feature of the software and I'm not sure it can be changed. Apologies for the inconvenience... Diane E # "Nothing that is made by God is queer." Now that we actually have digests that say something besides "This is a test..." I've started a digest web page. You can get to it from the list's regular webpage (which is in my .sig file) or by using the format http://xxx/tbaaXXXXXX.html where XXXXX is day/mo/yr of digest. For example, to pull up yesterday's digest, the URL would be http://xxx/tbaa030797.html If that doesn't work, it either means there was no digest for that day (the server accidentally got set to send them out every 3 days, initially) or that I haven't had time to html code the newer digests yet. I'll try to update the website every Saturday, but if I'm out of town or unusually busy it may take longer. I'll keep as many of the old digests up as I can, but I'm using my personal web-space for this, and my space is limited. Oh, and a clarification: we're asking you to only subscribe under one address because the server this is on charges a monthly service fee based on number of subscribers. Since neither Jennie nor I are rich, we'd appreciate it if you kept your subscriptions to one each. That way, we can have the maximum number of individuals on the list before we have to start limiting new subscriptions-- which is something we really, *really* don't want to have to do.... (And they allow you to "pre-signup" for any of your favorite author's books as soon as they know they'll be out. So I had "The Partner", and have "Freedom's Choice" among others on order.) And to keep this on TBAA: I never hear about the two parters until after it's been shown :-( (I time shift and sometimes it'll be two-three weeks before a watch an ep.) Maybe they'll repeat it this summer, sigh. One comment on the two-parter episode that Roma was blind. Gerald's character was one huge ball of anger, he just seems to be on the edge of exploding all the time. It was an interesting idea for the episode. I don't watch _Promised Land_ regularly, but the little I've seen of it (mostly with TBAA crossovers) makes me wonder *why* this man is supposed to be the good guy? He seems to be playing a stereotypical redneck opinionated jerk from what I've seen. Could someone please enlighten me on this man's redeeming qualities, if he has any? And his son didn't impress me, either. I mean, *how* protected a WASP environment did this kid grow up in? When Monica asked "Is she as beautiful as she sounds?" about the deli owning grandmother, Josh responded "She's black!" as if the two were *incompatible*, for heaven's sake! OK, I'll stop complaining now. But that bit *really* annoyed me.... just had to get it off my chest. :) Diane E # "Nothing that is made by God is queer." The show is really starting to gain a lot of publicity now! Roma is on the cover of the April 1997 McCalls, which I got immediately after my sis told me about it, & I found the March 10th Jet with Della & Roma on the cover. I also found the April 1997 GoodHousekeeping TBAA article on page 108, excellent pic of Martha & several small pics of Roma & Della. Good articles, too! Way to go, news media. They're finally waking up to what an excellent show TBAA really is. -------------------------------- End of tbaangel-d Digest V97 Issue #4 *************************************
