I will say this again. Posts wherein you voice opinions, discuss the show, etc. etc. are all fine. You don't have to like everything, you can dislike things about the show, you can tell us about it. This is not a problem. However, when you accuse someone of being unchristian or make any other judgements about them onlist because they have voiced an opinion, this is a good example of borderline flaming. I have asked you to please not do this, and I will ask also that you do not encourage each other to do this. Understood? 'K. Carry on, then. If not, e-mail me privately and I'll elaborate. Maybe the writers actually got some of the feedback from Xena fans about how incongruous Hudson looks as a timid little meekster. Now, for my die-hard PL fan friends: - LIGHTEN UP! This is about a television show (the archive will show that I must frequently reiterate this point). These are fictional characters, to wish their demise is to suggest an alternate story line. When I advocate the ACTORS' death, you will have a point. - if you actually like PL, that's your prrob, um, that's a matter of personal taste. I realize that there is valid content for this list related to PL, but ... be prepared to do battle. - you guys are annoying Jennie, that is nnot good!! Now, let's all go back to acting like angels. Despite it's predictability, I enjoyed "Labor of Love." It was hard to watch, actually. This episode really hit home for me because I nearly lost my sister and niece for the same medical condition last year. Nine weeks early, my sister developed a headache that within a few hours became a life-threatening symptom of toxemia. Medically speaking, the writer's did their homework on this one. My favorite moment in this episode, however, is the simple line Meg delivers to Monica...every baby born is a sign that God hasn't given up on the world. Since my niece was only 2 lbs. 11 oz. a year ago, and now she's a healthy 17 lbs., I happen to think it's a great sentiment. :-) And poor Andrew, no vacation in 100 years.... Wasn't it Tess who in Sunday's ep said, "you see God does work all things out for the good of all".? Did you notice that Celeste "simple message" that she got to deliver was considerably more lengthy than Monica's first "fear not" message? teehee. Monica has the gift of telling the truth while Celeste's is for gab. teehee. :) I was going to ask if anyone knew who the "nosy passenger" was. I kind of figured she was an angel because I had seen her on TBAA before. That was the biggest hand wave I've ever seen. They had to find a way to get Andrew there. But since when does an angel need to take an airplane to get from New York to Paris? It still cracks me up. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Mar 1997 18:46:22 -0500 (EST) From: AmilynH @ ..com To: tbaangel @ .execpc.com Subject: Re: Something I have to share with you In a message dated 97-03-11 11:57:20 EST, Hugo wrote: >So now, the people in Switzerland can watch TBAA, *and* they >have the choice of watching it in either English, German or French! Das ist aber *so* sehr schoen! You will have to tell us once you have seen the English broadcasts if the voices they are using in the dubbing are good voices or not. I would love to hear about what the voices are like, especially since all three of the (current) main actors on the program have accents. I am interested to hear how they do the accents (or don't) in the German-dubbed (and French-dubbed) broadcasts. It would also be neat to see how well you think they have translated the lines themselves. You know, it's a really good thing I'm not there; I would feel compelled to tape a full set of *all three* versions of the show just for comparison. (*sheesh* I already have the American, Canadian, and German versions of Forever Knight; I really *do* get that obsessed.) I'm always curious to see if the programs air in their entirety and, if not, what is cut. (On FK, things were cut from the American version of 1st season that were reprehensible to leave out.) I am curious....have you taped any of TBAA and do you know how many minutes an episode runs? I am curious to see if they are airing in their entirety or in stripped versions. Even in the States, things only air in their entirety the very first time around, and then they are "stripped" of 2-6 minutes of footage in syndication (which is why I've never seen but 2 un-cut episodes of MASH). Anyway, thanks for sharing, and I look forward to hearing more about the European broadcasts. :-) Tschuessli! I thought these were very different instances. The assignment from "The Sky is Falling" was Monica's first message working for *annunciations*. This is Celeste's current assignment as a (not first time) *case worker*. There's a bit of a different in the tasks done by each department, as far as I can tell from the show's presentation; the Annunciations department (to quote Monica) delivers quick messages like "'Fear not' or 'Behold'." Case work is more involved by definition, which is why it's one of the last types of assignment that angels are given in the TBAA universe. You know, a couple of people have mentioned this now, and I don't seem to remember Alice Ghostly being on TBAA before. Does anyone remember *where* she was? I'm wondering if maybe there's someone who is reminding people of her but who is actually a different actress. And if I've forgotten seeing her, I'd like to know who she played last time! I always find her amusing. :-) Amilyn --- I could confuse them to death; you know I could do that. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Mar 1997 18:25:59 -0600 (CST) From: gryphon @ ..com To: tbaangel @ .execpc.com Subject: Re: TBAA-just a few things On Tue, 11 Mar 1997, AmilynH @ ..com wrote: >You know, a couple of people have mentioned this now, and I don't seem >to remember Alice Ghostly being on TBAA before. Does anyone remember >*where* she was? Not exactly, but I seem to remember her being an "administrative angel", if I can coin that phrase. Like Estelle Getty's character in "The Sky Is Falling", who showed up to chide Tess on her lack of etiquette? That kind of angel. And the more I think about it, the more I'm sure I *did* see her as an angel... I just can't remember where. Musta been earlier this season, though, because I didn't watch last season. >I could confuse them to death; you know I could do that. Yes, Amy, we know. ;> Oh, one more thing: Your ListNanny is going away for a little vacation. I'll be away from home (and mostly out of e-contact) for approximately two weeks, from tomorrow morning (3/12) until very late 3/23 (two weeks from yesterday). So if you need any help between now and then, you'll have to ask the Listowner, Jennie. Be good while I'm gone. :) Diane E # "Nothing that is made by God is queer."
