[>snip! for space<] Putting in my two bits, Hudson did a good enough job that I didn't even recognize her until it was pointed out by someone else. Which is quite something considering one of her Xena eps was on here the same night. Then Mich wrote: [>snip!< again for space] > But if Callisto was prominent in your thoughts during the "Angel of > Death" episode, then you ARE saying Hudson did a poor job of acting, > IMHO. And if most of the TBAA audience got the same impression, then > Hudson did a poor job of acting, especially if TBAA fans who watch the > Xena:WP series think about Callisto when Celeste is on their television > screen... Um...don't want to step in between you two, but I know *I* get incredibly riled if someone tells me what I meant when I said something, rather than asking for clarification if they're unsure. It's not a terribly constructive strategy in any sort of discussion, and online can be quietly infuriating, even done innocently. In any case, thinking of any actor's other roles during a performance does not automatically constitute a criticism. If I get to see *20,000 Leagues* on Sunday night, for example, I won't be able to help thinking of Fraser the Mountie when I see Paul Gross as Ned Land. It won't mean I think he's a good or bad Ned. (Cue Billie Burke!) It's just, y'know, human brain stuff. Oh, I do love that! (And did Andrew have to make cherubic reservations to book his flight to Paris?) I've grown very fond of Celeste, a character that, by all rights, I should want to smack with a ping-pong paddle. Just wanted to take a quick minute to give you all some *TBAA news* that I thought you'd like to know about (I know I am). I don't know how many of your have seen, or have obtained the TBAA book. But for those of us who have it and have been wanting more, there is good news!! **There is another book coming out.** It is called: When Angels Speak and its about quotes from the show and such. It is a paperback and should be available within the next few weeks (I'm being told April -May by the bookstores, but my friend said any time now). It will cost $9. Start calling now so as to be able to reserve your copy. The next piece of news I have is this: **Martha Williamson (ex producer of TBAA) and The Angels will be featured on Oprah**. I don't have the air date for that particular show yet, as the show was just taped today in Chicago. I should know Monday or Tuesday (as that's when I was told to call back). As soon as I find out, I'll let you all know (hopefully in time to get all those vcrs set up). Until later. TTFN. I was courous when you said "Martha Williamson ex producer of TBAA) did that mean she left the show (I hope not I love her work) or executive producer. May God Bless F. DeWayne Watkins F. Even tho it is a repeat, I definitely plan to watch it again. My usually stoic husband, upon watching this fine ep, said, "Whoa, Martha Williamson is really seeing just how close to the line she can come with these scripts." That statement was prompted by the line by (I can't remember exactly who said it) "Where you end up is up to you". Of course, I'm paraphrasing, here. If any television show can prompt my husband to make a statement like that, then Martha & the cast should consider themselves as having done their job and done it well. Thanks so much Jennie, don't know what I'd do without you. This mail list has become a highlight of my days. To F. DeWayne Watkins <> Martha is still Executive Producer, I just mispelled my abrivation. Sorry for the confusion!! I would also be interested in a chat line, but I don't know much about them, or how one would use them. I'm still new to this whole computer/internet thing:-}, and I am literally, to con a TBAA phrase: "winging it". So if one of you more experienced chatters and pc users would care to explain in terms a newbie can understand, please email me. To AMarsh8597 @ .RR.com you wrote (( Tess says, "This is Andrew he's here for me." Gosh, I wish I could say that )) Boy don't all us girls wish that!! 8-) :-)~~~ To John Flanders you wrote ((if you wait he will come ... there are alot of bad eggs ... I don't think I'm one)) Believe me, I am placing my hopes and dreams for my entire life (not just to find the *right* man) in God. I could not have made it this far without Him. As for the bad eggs, I don't believe you're one either. :-) Thanks for the message of hope! To JC Weaver @ .RR.com RE McCall's issue I have that issue and the artical on Roma was ok, but not as good as the one done on her in the March issue of Ladies Home Journal. Have you seen that one? The McCall's issue does have two good pictures of her, one with her husband, and one with her little girl Reilly. Would you like me to send you copies of them? To Mary_Ellen_McCaver @ ..RRcom RE Sunday's episode I also taped Sunday's episode (even tho I am setting right there) because I enjoy watching them over and over, especially if they have touched my life with a message (I have taped all of them since The Violin Lesson, so I almost have all of this seasons episodes). If you would like to see all of Sunday's episode, I'll gladly send you a copy of it, as it was one of the best ones. Just email me at: deelady @ .RR.com, and give me your address. Of course that goes for anyone else too!! If anyone has taped episodes of the second or first season, I would be interested in them. I agree that Sunday's ep. was one of the best in a while. I liked the fact that all three angels were featured. Monica sure was cute in that 50's outfit too! (I wish I had a poodle skirt!). As for Andrew, he does make a good caseworker (remember the episode The Journalist?), but this time he had to work two cases at the same time, with very little time. No wonder he lost his patience. Although I don't think he really lost his patience, as much as he made a rush decision. But it doesn't matter to me what part Andrew plays (caseworker or Angel of Death), as long as he's there! And it's no wonder Tess is a supervisor, she not only had her own part of the puzzle to work on, but had to keep Monica and Andrew on track too! I would be interested in knowing if, and how, the show has "touched" and/or changed anyone's life in a special way. I know it has mine, and I'd be glad to share that story if anyone's interested. I kept thinking I should wait 'til more people were signed on, then I got a little busy and didn't have time to write one. It seems that now would be a good time to post my intro, though, because the list just hit an even 100 members today when I checked the registration. That's 62 regular mail, 38 digest, if you're curious. So anyhow, here goes: >From the top, I guess, I was born and raised in Wisconsin near Milwaukee. I come from a large family so anytime I refer to 'my brother' it's not one very busy brother, it's one of five. :-) I turn 30 later this year, and I keep really busy most of the time 'cuz there's just so much to *do* that I haven't tried yet. I'm intensely curious about most things, so that's probably the main reason I went into science. I currently am working for a pharmaceutical company in the research and development department as an analytical chemist. Let's see... I love attending Renaissance Faires (especially in costume) and combining hiking with photography. I have always loved to discuss books, movies and TV shows that I love, and I've been an active fan for about a decade. I enjoy attending SF/Fantasy and TV conventions and visiting with friends at them, especially if they are in a city I haven't yet explored. Favorite TV shows of mine have included S&MK, Probe, MacGyver, AN, FK, SWOL, B&TB, RoS, and Matrix. Some of my favorite authors are Mercedes Lackey, David Eddings, Susan Garrett and Anne McCaffrey. I first saw Touched By an Angel back in summer of '95 (I think that's about when it moved to Saturday nights, right?) Anyhow, my dad was in the hospital for basically the entire summer and he was very ill, and the treatment they were trying was new and involved a lot of waiting to find out if it was working. It finally did, but it was a very long, very frustrating summer for my family because we all wanted to be able to *do* something but all we could do was visit him and my mom. I found the show to be very hopeful and in that way very helpful, that summer. I've been watching ever since. :-) OK, that's probably more than y'all ever needed to know about me, so I'll stop now. :-) Take care, Jennie finabair @ .RR.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Mar 1997 09:31:57 -0800 From: Richard Treadwell To: TBAAngel @ .execpc.com Subject: TBAA Greetings...
