I agree that the angels should have had the whole hour to discuss the show. I was really ticked when Oprah cut John Dye off in mid-sentence. . .how rude! (I'm always embarrassed when someone does that to me, and I'm not even on television!) I'm sure anything he had to say would be more positive, anyway. What a beautiful smile John gave everyone when he came out onstage. . .he's just the best. . .I'm glad he's finally getting the recognition and attention he deserves! One of the other listserv members suggested a special "Behind the Scenes of Touched By An Angel". . .I think that's a wonderful idea! :-) My favorite ep of TBAA to date is "Into the Light." I have it on tape, and I've probably watched it 15 times already! I loved the scene where Monica and Andrew revealed themselves to James. Monica's speech which began, "When you stand in front of God, wouldn't you rather see the face of a friend?"--was so beautiful. My favorite part was where Andrew took Amy Ann's hand just before she died. . .afterwards, he looked up at Monica. I loved the expressions on both Andrew's and Monica's faces at that point. (These actors are just incredible!) Yes, I'm totally gone on John/Andrew. It's so lovely to see John bring Andrew's persona to life through those gorgeous eyes! *Drool* I'm looking forward to many more great episodes of TBAA. . .the more Andrew, the better. . .right, girls? Hi everyone: I totally agree with everything everyone said about the Oprah show. I had just three words for her..."Shut up, Oprah". I usually like her too, because she lets her guests express themselves unlike Phil Donahue who really didn't need guests because he was so busy expressing his opinion. I felt that Oprah was trying to supply the answer for the TBAA cast and she wanted to keep the show moving because she didn't want things to get too deep. Also, I felt like she had more respect for Della Reese and that is why Della was able to say more. I felt bad for John Dye too because I don't think he was able to express a complete thought the whole show. Ugh, how frustrating. I am glad that the show got a chance at a forum though, something that wouldn't happen on other talk shows. While I have been on this list since it started (and even on the previous one) I have finally gotten around to sending an intro. I am 32, happily married with a 4 year-old daughter. I currently am a stay at home Mom, although that may change. I enjoy reading almost anything, and in an attempt to prove that, I belong to a book club at the local library. I also enjoy sewing, and am proud to say that I am developing into a fairly good seamstress. I have a desire to write, and am currently involved in several on-line writing groups. I enjoy going to Cons, both sci-fi and multi-media, mostly to be with my friends. I live in Northern Wisconsin, and enjoy a great many outdoor activities. I don't watch very much TV and find most current shows not worth the time I lose watching them (although I am starting several embroidery and cross-stitch projects that may make me feel that I'm spending the time more constructively ). I also find a great many (OK almost all) of the shows are unsuitable for children, and have to tape them and watch them when my daughter's not around. Which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to sleep. As for shows that I do watch: TBAA (of course), Millennium, Sliders, Simpsons, and Star Trek. I've just started watching Spy Game. My spiritual beliefs are the cornerstone of my life and I am thrilled to see a show address my views in an honest and forthright manner. It is also refreshing to belong to a list where spirituality can be mentioned and people can be upfront with their beliefs with out being cast as fanatics or simpletons. I have long believed that television has avoided the issue of spirituality for far too long. TBAA's success will hopefully lay a foundation so that other shows will feel free to write more spiritually complex characters. That, I am sure, is more than enough. First of all, in last nights episode, what happened to the woman who was working on the crossword puzzle. Monica mentioned that she had had much pain in her life , but was the answer to her crossword puzzle what she really wanted? Was that her miracle? Maybe I missed something. Can anyone else help with this? Also regarding Oprah, I too agree that the entire hour should have been dedicated to the Angels. Jon Secada is okay, but he could have been placed on another taping. Yes, I agree that Oprah did indeed cut off her guests a couple of times and it would have been nice to hear Martha speak more. That's it for now. Have a great week everyone, Yo... I liked getting to see some more of Roma's acting range with Monica's depression. The episode was not one of the greatest I've seen, but it had most of the makings of a good TBAA episode with Tess singing, Monica mentioning decaf mocha latte, and fairly equal screen time for the three angels. It just had a few holes that made it seem incomplete. I still haven't figured out what the crossword puzzle woman needed and what she got out of Monica's message. I think the writer forgot about her. I also don't understand how the lottery man couldn't stop and listen to Monica when she was chewing him out. I know he was caught up in finding the ticket, but that was some talk Monica gave and he should have hung his head in shame. I thought Roma did a good job with righteous indignation. I enjoyed the ending with Tess singing and Andrew & Roma dancing. I wonder why they didn't end it with the traditional dove. Finally, I wish they would hurry this dog thing along. They've managed to stretch it for several episodes and frankly I'm getting a little tired of it.
