I realize none of this reunion business may ever happen, but it's fun to "daydream" about it. . .even if we never get to meet the cast and crew, it would be nice to meet each other. We all have a common bond in our love of the show. This is our common interest. Some of us are e-pals aside from the list, and it was this list that brought us together. I think that's great. I love people, and I'm always open to meeting others, and making new friends. As for meeting the cast and crew, I think an earlier post from Susan (CyberSuzan) said that she had approached those connected with TBAA about this. If it comes to pass, great; if it doesn't, that's okay, too. I'm still interested in meeting some of my other e-pals on this list. I well understand the need for security on the set. . .I know there are a lot of "crazies" out there. . .(I used to work inside a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane.) I know what some people are capable of. Getting to meet the cast and crew would be an exciting experience, but I won't be devastated if it doesn't happen. If it does, I would hope that all listmembers involved would be willing to abide by all terms and conditions set forth to ensure everyone's safety. That way, everyone could have an enjoyable, memorable experience. It would be interesting to know how they handled security re the live studio audience for the TBAA Cast appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show. Maybe, if an arrangement could be made, some of the same rules and regs could be applied to our meeting. It would work for me! Just my 2 cents, too. . . :-) Love to All, Darla ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Apr 1997 19:22:35 -0700 From: az483 @ . .addy.org (Mark Panitz) To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: open sets just my two cents speaking of open sets, I know another CBS show that *is* an open set, thats been of Dr Quinn (since I'm on that list as well) and a there have been a lot reports about visiting that set, although I;m not sure if its just open set or it had to a open set since its filmed in a National park. -- As Per US Code, Title 47, Chapter 5,Subchapter II 227 Unsolicited commercial advertising is NOT Welcome here Mark Panitz ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Apr 1997 22:32:43 -0400 (EDT) From: Finabair @ . .addy.com To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: ADMIN Re: TBAA convention? >Also another thing that has been a tad irritating about the most recent >posts, is the surge of Andrew popularity. I will agree that he is a very PLEASE do not criticize or complain about each others' posts, or the content of each others' posts, on the list. It is rude. If you find a topic too boring or repetitious for you, you'll just have to make use of your delete function. Remember, as listowner, I am the only one who is allowed to tell people what they can or can't discuss here. I will let you know if you're too far off topic, or if a thread is getting out of hand in some way (IMO, of course...) but I really don't expect to see anyone else making posts like this. And remember - be polite and considerate of one another. :-) Take care, Jennie finabair @ . .addy.com (Your ListOgre) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Apr 1997 20:50:25 -0700 (PDT) From: Tina Goin To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: visit to TBAA set I agree wholeheartedly with what several folks said about showing up at the TBAA set as an unannounced mob - that, IMHO, would be a very bad idea. Sadly, there are sick people in the world who would do some pretty awful things if given the opportunity, thus the need for "famous" people to have heavy security sometimes. *If* it ever works out that we're able to get together in SLC and visit the set, it would almost certainly have to be arranged ahead of time. I was never under the impression that we would even try it any other way, but I've been wrong before! :) I'd also like to say a bit about "dreams", as a fellow listfriend feels that the talk of a possible reunion is, more or less, a dream for some people (which is totally true). Last fall, my friend found a great bargain on plane tickets, and we were trying to decide where we could go to take advantage of them. I am a big "Precious Moments" fan ,and had wanted to visit the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Misourri for a long time. Living in South Texas, however, made getting there a problem. I mentioned, as a joke, that we could go there on the cheap fares. I never imagined that anything would come of it. Well, God had other plans, because the morning of August 29 found me on my way to Carthage to see the Chapel!! (BTW - it's beautiful!!) My point in sharing this with you all is just to say that even the most far-fetched dreams can come true, but only in His time, not ours. Maybe we'll make it to SLC, maybe we won't, but if we don't have dreams, what do we have to look forward to in life? God bless!! 0:) === Tina _____________________________________________________________________ Sent by RocketMail. Also some may have already seen it, but the Feburary 24 issue of Broadcasting and Cable magazine has an interview with Martha Williamson. I had not mentioned it before since the article was from before when I joined the list, but I thought if anyone hadn't seen it I would share the info with you. I feel the same way (although my health is also a factor). That's why I said earlier that we should plan the trip based on what "we" can do amongst ourselves (like visiting sites "previously" used in EPs) or perhaps if someone can bring their set of TBAA tapes of all the EPs, people could see some they've never seen before, or just a group of people sharing their thoughts on the EPs. If we are meant to meet the cast, it will be so. But I don't think it's necessary to meet them in order for us to share a good time together. To gather is to share and support the show. And isn't that why we're here? ;) ===================================================================== In Love and Light, Sky Dancer - http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/3471/ EEL, EEFFRR, KCEB (The Sun-Times Band), TBAA, AiA, X-Phile, & FK Lover (Still trying to figure out proper FK abbrs. ) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 1997 17:10:21 EST From: Jenn Harmer To: Subject: My introduction. :-) Hello!! :-) In the e-mail returned to me for subscribing to the list, it asks that new list members give an introduction of themselves, so...here it goes. :-) My name is Jennifer Harmer. My most common nick name is Rufio, however I am looking for one dealing with Angels and/or TBAA, so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to tell me. :-) I'm a 20 year old college student (a jr. at Marist College) in the state of New York. It's located in Poughkeepsie, NY which is about 60 miles north of New York City. I live at home with my mom, dad, 18 year old sister Jessica, and an 8 month old puppy, JL. I'm majoring in Communications (Radio/TV/Film), with a minor in Computer Science. Besides enjoying the above mentioned school-type subjects, I also love reading, listening, recording, and performing music, spending time with my friends, and going to church, just to mention a few things. I think within the past few months I've become much closer to God. I don't know why exactly, but I'm not complaining. :-) I've been told that I'm a great listener and friend. This could be because I've been through so much in my 20 years on this Earth, between my personal trials and my friends trials. It seems that any time a friend has a problem, I can relate to the problem somehow by what I've seen happen. I didn't really start faithfully watching TBAA until just recently. I've seen parts of episodes (mainly the endings), and a few whole episodes. My nickname for TBAA is "The Crying Show" because it never fails that I start crying at the end. I can't really say I have a favorite Angel, because I like each of them for various reasons. However, if I had to choose one, I'd choose Andrew. I don't know what else there is to say about me. If you have any questions, or comments...feel free to ask or say them. I don't bite, and I do take criticism well. :-) Until the next time...Love in Christ, -Jenn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 1997 17:15:03 -0400 (EDT) From: SingerFL @ . .addy.com To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: Re: Hi! Jenn Harmer wrote: <> Hi, Jenn! Welcome to the list! I'm a really new member myself. You'll enjoy it. . .the listmembers are really nice people. (Aren't we, folks?) There are *lots* of us on this list who also regard Andrew as our favorite angel. Those of us who *really* like Andrew have a little informal club, called AiA. The letters stand for "Andrew is Adorable." We like to talk about him a lot. :-) You've got all the criteria to be a bona-fide member of the club. It doesn't cost anything. . .just post, and say, "Well okay! Count me in, too!" (And maybe say something about your *favorite* "Andrew" episode.) Again, welcome! Before I sign off, I wanted to say something about my own favorite ep, "Into the Light". (The one with James, the convict, and Amy Ann, the little 14-year-old Elvis fan.) I think they should have renamed this ep, "Hey you--quit interrupting me!" When I finally got to the point that I could watch the entire episode without crying my eyes out, I rewound the tape, and found something hilarious. James tells Rachael at the beginning of the story, "You didn't let me finish!" He says the same thing to Tess later on; he's talking to her, and she's getting in his face about making phone calls when he's supposed to be working. When Andrew and Monica reveal to James that they are angels, they try to explain to James about knowing God, and getting to heaven. James interrupts and says something to the effect of "I can't get in, no matter what good things I do!" Andrew, at this point, says, "You didn't let us finish!" I just thought it was really funny that this sentence was used in some form throughout the ep, and that the character who used it first (James) had it fired back at him! :-) John Dye should have tried *that* one out on Oprah, when she horned in on his "growing up in Mississippi" story! :-) Love to All, Darla ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 1997 18:57:51 EST From: Jenn Harmer To: Subject: Re: Maybe Jenn wants to join AiA? I just thought he was really funny with that video camera, always in Tess' face. :-) >Before I sign off, I wanted to say something about my own favorite ep, "Into >the Light". When I finally got to the point that I could >watch the entire episode without crying my eyes out, Goodness, this was the *worst* episode for me and crying. Now, I said earlier that I cry at the end of most of the eps, but this one was the absolute worst. The second Amy Ann had the snow globe in her hand and the Elvis record started to play, I was BAWLING, and I do mean bawling. I guess I'm still affected by death. (My dog of 14 years died on Oct. 2nd) > And while I'm on the subject of this ep and Andrew, I thought it was kinda funny how after James had seen Andrew just kinda standing or walking, but not saying anything, he then went running to try and attack him, and Andrew kept disappearing. And finally about not letting anyone finish... I think everyone is guilty of that at least once in their lifetime. I know I'm like that a lot, with my mom especially. I start groaning, or leaving the room and she calls out, "I'm not finished yet!" I guess it reminds me of something I heard somewhere: "Be patient, God's not finished with you yet."
