Count me in too! :-) > ME ME ME!! :) Although "Into the Light" was my fave so far, I don't want to repeat everyone over again. :) I agree with everything everyone said, I was bawling like a baby the first time, and the last time I watched it. So, let's see. I liked "The Violin Lesson", another one that I bawled at the end. :) I also enjoyed the one where the foster family was wrongly accused, wasn't that the one where Andrew got to play cameraman? ::giggle:: (I loved that scene too ;) The only other ep that I've seen and actually watch the videotape over is the one from last season about the cop trying to find missing children. I get teary again when we see Andrew taking that child Home... ::sniff:: Finally, I liked "Sins of the Father" a lot. Even though Andrew didn't have that much onscreen-time, what he does was integral to the plot. And I think we all need to remember that *it doesn't matter what we have done, God still loves us*. You know, I realize that they can't have people dying *every* episode, but those are still my favorites. :) Maybe because, IMHO, everyone likes these "faith strengthers" showing that there is salvation. Or maybe because those are the only scenes/episodes that actually matches what I believe about angels. I mean, an angel who lies? Or angels who need *performance reviews*? Or an angel who has *one* miracle? I believe it was stated in the Bible that angels aren't given the same forgiveness as humans, they understand the real meaning of sin and once they break it willingly, they're *done*. And angels who have performance reviews and having to choose one person for a miracle is just plain silly, IMO. This was all just my interpetation of what I believe about angels, feel free to disagree. :) (Sorry if this is a overused topic, I'm a pitiful newbie here :) -TT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (-|-) TIL--TAOS-L--IPAPCT--KID--ONE--LOVEU--DMFW--MFWC--HL'er ->--- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Join "Star Trek Top Ten List of the Day!" Anyhow, one of the main purposes of the NPS, to put it simply is that all of the units within the NPS (as well as other sites through the other divisions under the Department of the Interior, such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) are owned by the American people and therefore are always open to the American people, as the NPS relies heavily on having a very well known "user friendly, as every individual who enters the unit is important" image. This is especially true since most units charge entrance fees, (and many are raising the fees in order to keep up with the always increasing costs of upkeep) and all of the NPS employees definately want to make the visitors feel that they are always welcome and very important. Anyhow the whole point is that (and I realize that this is straying a bit from the TBAA subject, but I will get back to it) when a TV show or movie (and lots of movies have been made on NPS areas, including one at one the areas that I worked at, which was Devil's Tower, Wyoming where Close Encounters of the Third Kind was filmed) is made at a NPS site, the set there would probably have to be more accessible than a set on any other private or public area, since the NPS relies so heavily on having a great PR image that being unfriendly towards visitors, could possibly be not too accepteptable, or even detrimental to that site's image, which is the last thing that the NPS wants. In regards to TBAA, being that it is made in Utah, there are a number of (often very beautiful) National Park Service units, (such as Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park) in Utah, (though none of them are all that close to SLC) that occupy many many acres of national public land, and I am wondering if any of the past ep's or any future ep's, were ever made in or near a NPS unit. And if that were ever to happen to be, I would highly imagine that it couldn't be a "closed" set (as some of the only reasons to close off say a section of a NPS unit would be for safety of the visitors and for resource related reasons, such as for the protection of endangered species). One reason simply is that the NPS has to have rules and regulations, (which are usually tailored to each individual unit's needs and specifications, and are mainly there to protect that unit's resources and uphold the law) and these pretty much apply to each person who chooses to enter that area no matter who they are, with basically no exceptions! Well, I think that I've said (more than) enough and hope that what was stated can be understood. Sorry if I rambled on a bit, but from my introduction I stated that I do have a great interest in the outdoors and many of the topics (like trying to identify and know various animal and plant species) and issues (such as convservation) associated with it! Hope that I didn't "bore" anyone too much! I have been talking to a friend about all our thoughts and ideas about a reunion and the "fantasy" we all seem to have about it being held in SLC, and meeting the cast and crew of TBAA, among other things about TBAA (the Oprah show, Tess's wee dog ...etc). Well, my friend wrote back to me today and said this (and I thought I'd share it with you all): >>FYI the "Touched" set here in Salt Lake is a CLOSED set and we are not happy with what Oprah said on her show. Unfortunatley it gave a false impression. Set visits are closley monitered and passerbyers may only watch from a distance, if it is even possible. I hope this doesn't destroy you fantasy of coming down here.<< If you can't guess by reading that, yes, my friend works at TBAA. Now you all know where I get my info from! I've told him about us, and he thinks this is cool. So I have a double reason for wanting to go to Utah! I have asked all our questions about a meeting to him, and as soon as I know something I'll post it. But they really are a busy bunch, working sometimes 12 hrs and more a day. And like someone else said, With God all things are possible!! As for all the other things... What...I missed a show with a couple of my angels?!!! ARGGG .... :( Did anyone tape it, and if so, could they mail me a copy? I'll gladly pay for the tape and postage. Thanks for the info, Susan, on the People article, and on the reviews. If you happen to find out the date it'll be out, could you post it please. I have a bad time remembering from one day to the next whether or not I have checked for new articles in magazines. By the way, are you planning to put anything on the JDHP about the Access Hoolywood show? Well, I can't think of anything else to add for now. I need to get off some other email. So until later GCALJS Diana deelady @ .addy..com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Apr 1997 21:42:22 -0500 From: DeWayne Watkins To: tbaangel @ .execpc.com Subject: Favorite EPs Hello everyone, A lot if people are writing in to tell about their favorite epesodes of TBAA and I think it's about time I put my two cents worth in. First of all it was somewhat difficult because I love them all but I've narrowed it down to three. Currently these are correct as of now if you know what I mean. 1. Into The Light - Where the con man is trying to con God to let him into Heaven because of a few good works and the girl who loves Elvis befriends him and he learns that good has to come from the heart. The ending gets me crying almost every time. 2. The Homecomming - Delta Burke (I hope I'm spelling it right) is a reformed drug addict and street girl. 3. Tough Love - Phylicia Reshad is an alcoholic writer who finds out that God loves her. These three are my current favs I would say because they afferm that God Loves us But they all do that. Have you ever noticed that every shoe that I can remember and I've got all but 2 eps on tape that someone always says "God loves you." I believe it with all my heart. May God Bless F. Thanks for the info from your friend regarding the TBAA set being closed and the people there at TBAA don't sound all too happy with what was shown on Oprah perhaps being a bit misleading. Still you are so lucky to know someone who is directly involved with TBAA, and I'm very happy to know that you've let him know about us all! T/C. The listserv is not equipped to handle them and will translate them into pages of unreadable hash. Nothing really earthshattering, but an attempt to avoid digests of gibberish. :-) We're still learning new things about the software. As long as we're weighing in with favorite eps, I'd like to cast another vote for "Into the Light". I think part of the appeal of this story is its hopeful depiction of death, an event we've all been taught to fear. Amy Ann has to have one of the most beautiful Christian deaths in television history; it's the sort of passing we want for ourselves and our loved ones. All the angels have important roles to play as well, so it wins all around. I also liked the "performance review" ep because it a) gave me the chance to see parts of episodes that I haven't been able to see yet and b) gave us another chance to see Monica and Kathleen interact, something I find quite interesting. I especially liked the ending with the Angel of Angels. "The Journalist" is another favorite, since it was a great story and Andrew had about his biggest part to date. I wish I'd seen the one with the policeman and the child-is that "Lost and Found", the one with the missing child agency? Could anyone copy it for me-I'd be happy to send a tape, pay postage, etc. I'd really appreciate it! I think everybody, including myself, has gone back and forth through these stages all through our lives, and it was refreshing to see the dynamics of it laid out so clearly in this episode, so that's why it's my favorite Plus, Andrew is gorgeous. But then that goes without saying... { 0:-) SarahB { ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 1997 15:31:09 -0400 (EDT) From: Signpraise @ .addy.com To: tbaangel @ .execpc.com Subject: Re: TBAA convention? If I were an actress, I would be scared too because you don't know who is who out there and there are a lot of crazy people out there. In reference to the finances, this is hard for a lot of us right now...maybe we can think of something like rounding up coast to coast get togethers for visiting each other and going out to dinner. For example, the people who live on the west coast, can get together and meet at a location that is good/feasable for all to get to/ and the people from the eastern/ middle and southern can do the same until we know we have full clearance from the TBAA cast/crew when all of us can get together. Just a suggestion. Well, whatever we all decide to do, I love chatting with all of you. Take care all. He is good looking yes, but as Darla and many other list members have said in earier posts, what makes him so attractive is not only his good looks but especially his love and his adoration for God. That is what makes people attracted to each other. The light from within certanily shines out and people see it, and sense it.
