Yes, John is so adept at using his facial expressions to convey his meaning, that he wouldn't ever have to say a *word*, and you would *still* know what he meant! My favorite "funny" John/Andrew expression is the double-take he did in "Missing in Action," when he finally realized that the little elderly lady was Monica. My favorite "serious" John Andrew expression was the one he gave Monica in "Into the Light." He was looking down at Amy Ann as she died, and then he looked up at Monica. It was as if he was saying, "Everything has gone according to God's plan. . .Amy Ann is okay now. . .she is with her Father in heaven." ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 1997 12:32:38 -0400 (EDT) From: ERIC ISENBARGER To: TBAA Subject: Unidentified subject! I've been on the list for a couple of weeks now and I'm so happy to have found others who share the same feelings for the show that I do! I'm 30 years old, single and live with my three darling but sometimes little terrors, kitties. I live in St. Paul, MN. It's so nice to see others from MN too! I really liked the show when it first came on but I didn't get really hooked until the 'Missing Children' episode. I have two friends who have children that are missing. I also had a very abusive childhood and that's when I first started believing in angels. That episode really hit home. I love the fact that the show portrays God as universal and not just that God under one certain name is the only 'correct' God. (Two of my friends were in cults and their God was the only 'correct' one and who ever didn't believe in this particular God would automatically go to hell.) The show has helped bring God back into my life. Watching this show has helped me heal a lot of old wounds too. I think the cast of TBAA, in their own way really are angels. :) I really love all the characters but my favorite is John/Andrew. I have never known any man who didn't have alterior motives for being kind to me, who really cared about me and wouldn't hurt me or one that I could really trust. I've never known a man who has so much gentleness, kindness and strength. But then, until recently I haven't been going to the kind of places that I might meet someone like that(like bars). I never thought I deserved kind people like that in my life. I'm learning from this list that there are people like that out there. :D I too also cry every episode. For the longest time I couldn't even cry at all. And now I can. It feels really good. Anyways, I really try to listen to my dreams because often they come true or warn me of something.(car accident, seeing people I haven't thought of or seen in years, etc...) Well, last night, I dreamt that John was himself, but he was also an angel(not Andrew) and that he had a this important message for me and I can't remember what it is! I can see the red writing on the paper of this little booklet and I can see him handing it to me with the message but I can't read it or hear him. I know it's something important too! It's really bothering me that I can remember everything but the message. :( Anyways, It's so nice to meet you all! (Hope this wasn't too long, personal or offending.) God has really blessed me in my studies so far!!! Touched by an Angel is definitely my favorite television show... Like most of you, I find the message of the show uplifting. It's always nice to be reminded each week that "God loves us!" I've seen Touched by an Angel since it first came on, but have only just recently started taping the eps (UGH!). My favorite ep would have to be "The Journalist". For some reason, that ep was especially touching to me (and not just b/c Andrew had such a nice part! ) Oh, I guess I'd better say it now.... J/AiA, count me in! :-) I do like John's acting... his other movies (if you haven't seen them) are truly wonderful!!! Campus Man is definitely the best.... but not to get off subject... All the cast of TBAA is really wonderful and they interact so well with each other!!! Well, I guess that's all about me right now.... but, I look forward to getting to know you all better! Any of you can write me if you wish at DYEGOOD @ . .addy.com I'd love to hear from you!!!! Take care and God bless you all!!!! I also know (from working in theater) that facial expressions also speak just as loud as actions. We must be really blessed to have an actor (John Dye) be able to not just say lines and be adorable, but to say the lines and put proper actions and facial expressions , and be adorable...all at the same time. :-) (For those of us J/AiA members.) And for all TBAA fans, Della and Roma (along with John) all have their own way of putting actions and facial expressions into their words. That's part of what makes this show so touching for me. They make angels seem like real human beings, with real emotions, etc. It makes it easier for one to believe in angels if they think that angels are almost like them, and not like some over-bearing, very powerful, glowing and flying being that would scare you rather than comfort you. *shrug* Just an idea. :-) Love in Christ, -Jenn ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Apr 1997 17:52:07 -0400 From: deelady To: "'tbaangel @ . .execpc.com'" Cc: "'AMarsh8597 @ . .addy.com'" Subject: RE: my intro AMarsh wrote: >>Maybe, Paula, the message that you are referred to Is the message that = >>God loves you and He "has knit your inmost being. Here is a sad story that is also true. That happened to one of my cousins. I had a cousin that got married and they were both young. They were married for about a year and he had lost his job. His wife was supporting the marriage. He felt that it was the guy's job to support his wife and not the other way around. He had tried to look for a job but he had no such luck. He knew when his parents went to town, so He took a shot gun pointed at his head and shot himself. His parents came home and found him in their living room. The sad thing to this story is that night which he killed himself, the telephone rang and it was a guy saying that my cousin had the job that he had applied for last week. I think that this story shows that no matter how bad things can be and look, that their is always hope in the future. Once you hit rock bottom you can only go one way "up".
