Susan, thanks for the updates on the shows. Too bad the date isn't known for the "People" article. Nice to hear from another SC native! Hello, AKpatricia! Nice name :) !!!! Ok, I have to say that I watched TBAA on and off during the first season. My sister was the one who got me started. The first ep I recall seeing had to do with the dying baseball coach. Does anyone remember the name of that show? Wasn't that the first season? I also thought the ep with Andrew and the Turkey he couldn't kill, was great. Was that "The One That Got Away"? Sorry, I don't seem to be very good with these ep titles. I watched more frequently during the second season, and by the third season, I became a regular. Some of my faves are: "Last Call", "The Journalist", "Statute of Limitations" (The Morgan Bell Show), "Unexpected Snow", "Missing in Action", "The One That Got Away", "Rock 'N Roll Dad", "Homecomming, Part One and Two", the cross - over show with the mall in LA, "Labor Of Love". Oops! Looks like I named most of them. Oh, well. I just love this show. The writing, the acting, and the production are all so good. This is definitely (sp) a show that is inspiring, as well as truthful. Some times too much so. Goodness! I just realized that it's 11:30pm, and "David Letterman" is comming on. Gotta go watch Roma! Hi everyone! It's glad to be back. Today was a thrill because though I missed Roma on Dave last night, she was interviewed on one of our local radio stations this morning (KMOX, St. Louis) It was only for about 5 minutes but she was lovely. She mentioned that next season they'll likely bring in quite a few "guest angels" in response to fans' letters requesting more info on other angels and what they do. And on May 11 Bill Cosby will guest star as an "angel with an attitude" but the episode is great and has very touching moments. Roma also mentioned that when shooting wraps Della has said that she's planning to crawl into bed and not come out until shooting starts in the fall, but Roma is heading off to Toronto to film a movie-of-the-week. It's got a sort of Christmasy feel and will probably air in the fall/early-winterish. I'm sorry, I forget the working title. After the movie wraps she, husband & daughter are heading back to Ireland to visit family and show off Reilly. She hopes to get a *lot* of rest while visiting. When she spoke of going home she spent time talking about how sad she was that the cease-fire had broken. She seemed so sad when she talked about the political situation back home and said that she doesn't remember a time, even as a small child, that there weren't soldiers in the streets and sandbag bunkers on the corners. Everyone is just *so* tired of the violence, she said. It was very moving. There was more, but those are the highlights. It was quite cute, our weatherman did his forecast immediately before her interview and was there to say hello and tell her how much he and his family loved her and TBAA. He was being such a fan-boy, it was adorable! (And she was so gracious!) Apologies if this is oft-repeated news. There but for the Grace of God I hope this doesn't start a flamefest, but I'm going to risk it. I HATE this title. The theory is that without the grace of God, then we could all end up homeless. That means that those that ARE homeless are without God's grace! And I've always found it to be quite the opposite. "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye a needle than it is for a rich man to enter heaven." Realizing that homeless are people, too is necessary. Learning to treat them with respect is a great lesson. But teaching our kids that mommy and daddy are one paycheck away from living on the streets is ridiculous and can be harmful to a child's personality. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Apr 1997 13:13:08 -0500 (EST) From: VMISIXFIVE @ . .addy.Net To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: Letterman Hi, everyone! I thought Roma was so funny on "Letterman" last night. I loved it when she said something about having to be "Undercover Angels", and then had to say, " Not under - the - cover - angels" ! LOL ! Also, I loved when she was explaining how the angels had to help these people at a crossroads in their lives, and then mentioned that she had played a hooker. Letterman : "A hooker?!" LOL! Then, she tried to explain how she had to "help" Delta Burke's character. That received even more laughs. Also, she was funny about St. Patricks' Day (green ribbons vs. green hair). Touching what she said about Ireland's peace talks, don't ya think? Sorry I listed so many favorite eps, but I have so many. The "Six Hands" ( correct title?) was also good. Andrew was particularly funny with Ray in the elevator. It was a touching episode, though. The secret service agent who fishes is an episode I missed the first time. My sister told me to watch it, since she thought it was one of the better ones. I'm glad I did. I seemed to have missed "The Violin Lesson" altogether, since I don't recall ever seeing it. Maybe when it reruns, I can catch it. Now, for "The Great Hair Debate" : I'm not sure whether or not John looks better with his hair up or down. I think it looks ok either way. I may like it better down for when he is doing his "Andrew Holy Angel Glow", but I think it needed to be pulled back for his playing a cook and a secret service agent. Not that any of this really matters, but I just thought I'd add my two cents worth. Well, I have to go now and check my e-mail to download my next digest. More later. I think you're exactly right, Patricia, (and. . .as long as we're on the subject of hair,) didn't you think Roma looked beautiful, even as a little elderly lady, in "Missing in Action"? She'll probably be just that pretty in real life, even when she *is* 80! I think they should have put her hair in a bun for some scenes, though. . .She'd be lovely, either way! I don't know too many little elderly ladies who wear their hair loose on their shoulders! Della's hair is always attractive, too.
