Collin Powell. That letter really hit something. Volunteering. Giving more of yourself to others. It means alot, that, and sharing your dreams with the Father Creator. It means a great deal to me to volunteer my time to help out when ever and where ever possible. To me, the call is a klaxon. A blaring siren that screams for help. I hear it and I go. When I hear that siren scream out, I go. God's siren is the klaxon. I am a volunteer at heart and soul and mind. When I heard that my church needed more members, I went. I heard the klaxon. When a senior center that runs a farmer's market needed help, I went. Again, the klaxon. It sounds robotic, but it is not. I have a choice. A chance to make a difference. I am chosing to help another with no expectation of reward. I go because that is who I am. What I am. What God had made me to do. I am not a saint, not even near it. I foul up like every human does, and more so. At times I feel worthless, insecure, afraid. I don't go when the klaxon goes off the first time. I get too wrapped up in my shell. When the klaxon goes off again, I do go to get out of my shell and to help. Just getting out of the shell helps me. I pick up bagles at a local bakery, and I have help in this. My brother, Dave. We bag them, tie them up, and transport them to the senior center in time for the farmers market to be donated. It means a lot to hear that siren, even more so to answer it. I am a child of God, and I am a volunteer. What more can I be? John C. Jennie, what was this about a wedding on a train? I guess Actually, the wedding was really just the setting for the episode, we didn't actually see much (if anything) with the bride and groom...the plot of the episode was about the guests and a bridesmaid. There were a bunch of old friends from law school and one had been very out of touch until he showed up at this wedding (he'd been working abroad) so he hadn't known that one of the group had committed suicide because he'd been 'caught cheating' on his finals. Turned out that it was a setup to get him discredited so that one member of the group (the one who'd been dating the guy who'd gone abroad) could get the job he'd landed. Then the subplot had Andrew showing up in case someone died, and Tess greeting him as an old friend with Monica getting jealous. So when Andrew tried to offer Monica some advice she was very rude to him. Tess yelled at her for it, Monica apologized and Andrew was, of course, very forgiving. :-) >I need to do some research. What episode was that picture of John taken >from that appears in the opening credits and on his web page? I know I >remember that show, I just can't think of it. Wasn't it one of the first There are three shots of him on the credits. The one that's also on the webpage is from the shot where he's jumping off the log and was indeed in this episode. The other two are *somewhere* on the webpage as well, the one with the football is from "'Til We Meet Again" and the one where they're fishing is of course from "Secret Service" (which we just saw! ) > I have a friend in LA. What issue of "Daily News" is the article >about TBAA in? I thought she might be able to get me a copy, but I'm not Yesterday's - 4/23. She was talking about the upcomming episode, "Volunteers". Did I saw this. It looks like a very good ep! :-) Our power went out this morning. Hi Guys, The Rosie O'Donnell interview with Roma was fantastic. As usual Roma was charming and Rosie was funny but in good taste, unlike Letterman who I found, on the border line of disgusting. Roma looked really happy to have her on the show and really let her talk. They showed a great clip from Sunday's upcoming show...Can't wait to see that one. I loved watching the real life clip from Roma's wedding. She looked like beautiful in her wedding outfit and Della Reese marrying her was a blessing to see as well. I really got the impression that Rosie watched the show at least once and that she connected with Roma and the whole angel theology. When she shared her own "angel" encounter with Roma. It was just a good feeling to watch Roma on the show. It seemed like a non-threatening, warm atmosphere...unlike that of The Letterman Show. In some ways, I felt that Rosie did a better job than Oprah because she allowed Roma to speak without really interupting her. It was great. It would be nice if Rosie had all three of them on her show. That would be a nice treat. 0:-) Hugs in Christ, Judy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Apr 1997 12:47:10 -0400 (EDT) From: IDyeForYou @ . .addy.com To: tbaangel @ . .execpc.com Subject: Re: Eps, Letterman, etc. In a message dated 97-04-24 03:21:06 EDT, you write: << Diana - I know you didn't ask me this directly, but I have a guess for GCALJS. According to a radio interview Roma did this week...she's doing a movie of the week in Toronto during hiatus. Della reportedly plans to spend the entire hiatus asleep...no word on John's activities yet..he's weighing options at this point. New little tidbit I discovered...John and Della did guest voices for the Disney series "Little Mermaid". I am currently trying to get copies of their shows. There was a tiny article and photo of John in the Daily News - a valley paper in the LA area...if I can get a copy, it'll be on the site soon. The people interview with John is still on...still no date yet. I have sent word to John that everyone wants a direct quote to find out what he was going to say when he was so rudely interrupted by Oprah...I'll post it when I get it. So here's a post of the section of the rules dealing with on-topic and off: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ * This is not primarily a religious list, but it's inevitable that religious topics will be discussed. Please respect the opinions and beliefs of others (see rule #1, "flaming"). Please do not tell anyone they are 'wrong'; if you disagree with someone say it that way. Please do not use this list as a soapbox, or to evangelize or proselytize. We're here to discuss TBAA. * Speaking of which, please stay on topic. Discussion of TBAA, the cast and crew, other projects they're involved in, etc. are all welcome and encouraged. This is not a list for discussion of angels in general, but discussion of how the angels in TBAA compare with other representations of angels or historical texts would be perfectly appropriate, for instance. If the discussion seems to be heading off on a serious tangent, I will post a note asking those involved to please take the discussion to private e-mail. In that case, please either do so or relate any further discussion directly to the show. Remember, if I ask you to take something to private mail, you aren't being yelled at; it's my job to keep discussion on topic, and nearly inevitable that it will wander off topic at times. ------------------------------------------------------------------ A further listowner comment: If something that is off-topic appears to be upsetting a lot of people, I will be a lot quicker to jump on it than if it's just off-topic but nobody minds. Last, but certainly not least, there has been an attempt to post one of those pesky virus-warnings to this list. In case anyone else was contemplating doing the same thing, I want to make it *crystal* clear that that is not only off-topic, it's annoying to those of us who've gotten 200 copies of the Good Times virus hoax. I don't care if it is a *different* virus warning, it should not go to this list. If you think it is serious, you may forward it privately to me and I will look into it. If I *do* hear of a real virus warning I will be happy to forward it, but I have yet to come across one that didn't make computer support people snicker or look annoyed. Just so that everyone understands how viruses work, they can only infect your computer through executable files (there has to be a program or utility activated by it). They can *not* be transmitted through simple e-mail messages, which are only text files. Basically, you *might* have to worry about attached files, depending on the type, but you will not have to worry about the message itself in e-mail. That's as basic as I can get. :-) My advice on the entire subject is, if you get an attached file you weren't expecting from someone you don't know, don't download it. I hope this clarifies things for everyone... Take care, Jennie finabair @ . .addy.com TBAAngel listowner ps - if you haven't read the rules, you probably need to. Perhaps it's also my thought that the show tries NOT to portray angels as flowy-wingy-haloey, and she makes me think of that description. I do think the name Celeste is beautiful, but again I feel it's too Angely >> Hi Michele, Welcome to the list.... I have to agree with you....I can't stand Celeste. She's much too stereotypical. I do like Hudson, the actress...just not here. Visiting angels are always great..and TBAA picks great ones, but I don't need or want any other "regular" angels in the middle of our trio...
