I got the impression Andrew was there as a member of the AOD task-team if not as the AOD who took the Dad just because of his association with the death. Can you be an Apprentice AOD? But maybe he was doing casework... Either way, he really didn't have much to do, and what he did do didn't make a lot of sense to me. He seemed to be supposed to locate the kids and take them back to town ("I wish this wasn't the only road into town" or something like that..) But then he stops at the wreck so the kid can have the traumatic experience of seeing his father dead! I had to rationalize that action as being what he was *supposed* to do so that Leonard and Penny could bond. But really, it just seems like typical tv to me...we gotta work Andrew in somehow, but he can't meet Monica... It means they realize they're onto a good thing, and that has *got* to be good for our favorite angel-boy. Obviously, as someone said, it worked. We watched PL, even those of us who don't normally do so, and lot's more of us J/AiA-types (who've never even heard of J/AiA--not being list subscribers or whatever) who, no doubt, also watched. What a show!!! It was very touching and uplifting. I was wondering if anyone else noticed a pattern in TBAA and PL and also Early Edition. It seems that alot of former stars of the old TV show "Homefront", one of the great shows IMHO. Kyle Chandler is now on Early Edition, Wendy Phillips (Kyle Chandler's Mom on HF) is on PL, and Jessica Steen (Kyle Chandler's sister on HF) played the rape victim. I hope some more of my now second favorite show of all time (since the first episode of TBAA) will show up. I can't wait for the two episodes of TBAA this weekend. Flashbacks of last season, when the three powerhouses of CBS were altogether, Dr. Quinn, TBAA, and Walker. I just hope that I have the vcr set right. Last time I tried to program it for just one night, and all I received was black static. Using a computer is easy, but programming a vcr is hard. ;) I am looking forward to seeing Cosby on tomorrows; episode. After going through a terrible tragedy, then to do something on TBAA, that tells you something about him. I don't know that kind of pain that Bill went through, but he is showing courage to play an angel that comes close to his loss. It must have been trying for him. Man, you watch Cosby for years, and see only a part of him that seems so ethereal. Then, to lose a child to a misguided soul, the perspective changes. I heard rumors that he was intended to play a person who loses a loved one, and then to have this happen.... Thank God Martha got instructions to write a special show just for Cosby. That is one of the best stories they've come up with in a long time. It seemed so simple, yet it was all so true. People with disabilities are often treated as lepers were in Biblical times - many people are afraid of them, and want to be as far away from them as possible. Sometimes we need reminded that we are all children of God, and we were put on this earth together for a reason; the reason being to do His work and spread his love. Though I've never personally known anyone with Downs, one of the children that I watch at my church on Friday evenings has cerebral palsy, the same illness that Kelly had on the "Volunteers" ep, and while she can't do some of the things healthy 4 year old can, she does pretty well with many others. I nearly fell over lastnight when I heard her laughing hysterically at a little boy who was peeking out at her from behind the toy kitchen. He has some emotional problems, and has never gotten along with any of the other children, but for some reason, these two clicked. They must have seen something in each other that none of the rest of us can see. Perhaps that's true of people with disabilities, they're able to see others in a way all their own, a way the rest of us can only wish about. As for the best part of tonight's ep, for me it was when Taylor revealed himself to Carolyn...and Monica...and Tess(Andrew, too, even though we didn't see it). Monica usually gets all teary eyed at this point, but Tess doesn't do much of that. It was sweet to see the teardrops in her eyes tonight. I know Taylor had *said* he was an angel, but when he was outside in the rain and picked up the rose, I really began to believe it... Once again, another terriffic performance by our angelic trio! :) Take care & God Bless, === Tina _____________________________________________________________________ Sent by RocketMail. Me, I just assumed a few weeks had passed between her getting carted off to the hospital and her coming home again. > and if she was home there would have been a nurse with her 27/7. Not necessarily. If she had someone who was willing to "live in" (as I got the impression Tess was doing, at least at first) and knew what to do, as Tess obviously did, she wouldn't need a nurse. And when she fell the morning of the storm, the sounds of rain and thunder could have kept Tess from hearing the noise she made. Also, you're assuming she had no control over the matter. She could have refused to go to rehab or refused a nurse, y'know. (gotta get home to her flowers, and all that) She had a severe speech dysfunction, but I bet she could've managed a basic yes/no sort of communication with her MD. Finally, it's just possible that she didn't have health insurance, and so couldn't *afford* a live-in nurse. Yes, I know, she owned a beautiful house in an obviously upscale neighborhood. But she'd apparently never worked-- stayed home and took care of two generations of family members-- and it's quite possible she's just been paying health care out of her own pocket.
