On the way to the patrol car, Todd reminds Katherine that they still have a contract and that he'll be in touch with her as soon as they are out of jail.

As soon as Katherine gets in the cab, she tears the contract up and heads to the charity drive, wondering what she is going to tell her boss.

Brett pleads with the policeman to please uncuff him so he can kill Todd. He will soon find out that the entire thing is an elaborate plan that Todd put together to get him off the hook with the diving officials.

Later, at the charity dive, Molly welcomes the crowd and surprises Katherine by introducing - Todd.

Todd speaks to the crowd about Brett and announces that he has been reinstated. Then he tells everyone that Image Magazine is there to present their "Man of the 80's" and that this person is a dear friend of his. Then he introduces ....

Cactus Jack!! It seems CJ took the contract with Image Magazine in return for the money that Todd owed him and since there was no longer a contract with Brett, he was no longer in breach of the rules and able to dive.

Katherine, of course had no intention of letting anyone know that this wasn't all in the plan, so she signed CJ to the contract right there.

In the meantime, the girls fill Brett in on the plan. He wants to know why no one told him that it was all a ruse. Molly asked him if he would have gone along with the plan if he had known and he admitted that he wouldn't have - so it's just as well. They all had to admit it worked wonderfully.
