From Carol: "I have a tidbit of John Dye to tell. When my daughter was little she asked for an autographed picture of Mr. Dye for her birthday. So I got in touch with the show and asked for one months in advance. As her birthday approached we hadn't received the picture yet. So I called up the show again explaining that it was her birthday coming up. She was only 6 or 7 at the time. The lady on the phone explained that Mr. Dye with his busy schedule had forgotten and she would speak to him. The next day via FEDEX overnight, we got the picture from Mr. Dye along with an apology for the wait and his best wishes for her birthday. A truly extraordinary man."

From Mama Hen: "When I drove my Big Rig, I had on the side, "Don't drive faster than your Angels can fly". John started to drive by when he spotted that plus my cross on the front, he then slowed down honked and waved before passing again."

From Mila: "So sorry to hear of the lost of such a talented actor. On T.V Touched By an Angel he made everyone feel less afraid of death. I pray and hope that his journey back home to his maker is with ease and May his soul be at peace."

My mother loved touched by an angel. she watched it everytime it came on. she watched every rerun. the show helped my mother to cope with her illness with cancer. I lost her on july 21, 2010. Mr. Dye had an impact on so many lives, not only through the role he played on screen but also the role he played in life. I admired his kindness, his courage, and his sense of responsibility. This was a man who genuinely cared about how he affected the world. John Dye didnŐt just talk about his values; he took action. For all his self-effacing comments he was a celebrity who used that status in the best ways, whether to raise funds or make us look at something that needs to change. He didnŐt always take the safe road; at times he challenged people publicly. But at the heart of it all was his striving to make the world a more compassionate place.
We are all feeling an emptiness right now. How can we best honor his memory? I urge you to listen to the very best part of yourself. May we all reflect into the world the light he shared. God Bless, John"
